We focus on serving our neighborhoods and city while placing a high value on education and teaching the whole Word of God.As a multi-generational church, we believe that children and young families are a vital part of our community today.About the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Family Ministries:The main purpose of this position is to lead a concerted effort to live out our core values, ensuring focus and continuity in all we do, and coordinating our family ministries. We seek a person who loves the LORD and will champion the discipleship of all, helping us grow closer to Him.Responsibilities Include:Christian Education/DiscipleshipDevelop and lead a holistic (cradle-to-grave) strategy to draw people closer to the Lord.Collaborate with Ministry Teams to develop Discipleship ministry vision, goals, and benchmarks.Small GroupsDevelop Small Group ministry as a primary avenue for spiritual growth.Work with Ministry Teams to establish vision, goals, and benchmarks for the Small Group Ministry.Evaluate and recommend curriculum for Small Groups.Recruit, train, and empower Small Group leaders to disciple others.Family MinistriesLead all Children's and Youth Ministries, participating and delegating as appropriate.Manage and empower Family Ministries Staff, including Youth Leader, Interim Sunday School Director, Interim Kid's Club Director, and Nursery Lead.What You Bring:Education & ExperienceCollege degree & Bible/Seminary training preferred.Experience in ministry leadership and teaching roles.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExpertise in developing discipleship methods and models.Ability to propose new solutions for ongoing improvement.Strong oral and written communication skills.Proactive in soliciting input from staff and church members.Administrative and organizational skills.Able to manage multiple tasks and maintain continuity across the organization.Detail-oriented and thorough in task completion.Personal Characteristics & QualificationsMust meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:6-9.Theologically reformed and willing to participate in EPC polity.Clear call to vocational ministry.Experience in discipleship and family ministries.Agreement with EPC beliefs.Commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission.Collaborative and relational approach.Detail-oriented.What it's Like to Live in Reno, NV:Reno, Nevada, "˜The Biggest Little City in the World,' is located 45 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe, surrounded by mountains.
