(Elliot).Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.We are seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Field Safety Director in the Central Region. The Field Safety Director is based in Lexington, KY, and will serve crew members in Kentucky and surrounding states.The Field Safety Director will provide strategic leadership in the development of safety and training execution in support of a safe and profitable operation that strives to continuously improve safety results. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and sustaining a strong safety and training culture through risk reduction and injury prevention efforts, as well as maintaining compliance to Elliot policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and local regulations.The Field Safety Director will report to the Central Region Safety Supervisor, and has the responsibility to execute and document safety and training tasks and initiatives across the region. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with Corporate Safety and Training and Regional Management to identify and lead appropriate initiatives that deliver continuous safety improvement.Qualifications/Education/Experience Requirements:5 years of power line construction experience in transmission or distribution.2 years of power line crew management experience.Demonstrated ability to organize, influence, and lead multi-functional teams and foster a proactive team environment.Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, NESC, and other federal and state agencies.Demonstrated leadership experience.Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills.Expectations and Accountabilities:Provide management and leadership in safety, health, and training.Provide leadership, development, and direction for front-line and general supervision.Oversee and maintain responsibility for all aspects of compliance with OSHA and other federal and state mandated regulations and Elliot reporting requirements.Lead safety initiatives that achieve safety objectives and result in an improvement in safety performance.Create and foster programs that lead to the creation of a culture where safety is recognized as a value.Identify, evaluate and coordinate implementation of new methods and approaches to accelerate safety improvement.Benefits/Culture:Today, we are listed among Engineering News-Records Top 150 Specialty Contracting firms.
