This initiative aims to revolutionize the field of wide bandgap semiconductors.The CLAWS Hub is looking to hire two Senior Fabrication Engineers. The key responsibilities will include:Work in a cleanroom environment.Develop standard processes using semiconductor fabrication equipment, such as lithography tools, dry etchers, and metal deposition tools.Ensure that the standard processes meet the required specifications.Generate Standard Operating Procedure documents for semiconductor fabrication tools.Train users on fabrication tools.Interface with remote users and assist in process development.Install new semiconductor fabrication tools.Carry out preventative maintenance on tools.Troubleshoot fabrication tools to quickly identify problems.Work with CLAWS hardware engineer/technicians or external vendors to carry out minor repairs on tools.Arrange service visits for major repairs.Participate in safety audits to ensure fab is operated safely.Other Responsibilities:Perform day-to-day tasks required to operate a multi-user facility, such as ordering and maintaining consumables inventory, contributing to housecleaning/lab organization, and maintaining documentation.Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience:M.S. or Ph.D. in Science or Engineering discipline.Three or more years of experience working with semiconductor fabrication in a cleanroom environment.Other Required Qualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.Must be able to work independently and contribute positively to a team.Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.Comfortable working with semiconductor fabrication equipment.Comfortable working with students and safely with chemicals and compressed gas cylinders.Eligibility to obtain clearance upon request of the US government.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in Science and Engineering discipline.Five or more years of experience working with semiconductor fabrication in a cleanroom environment.Required License(s) or Certification(s):Valid NC Driver's License required.Recruitment Dates and Special Instructions:Job Open Date: 03/01/2024Special Instructions to Applicants: Applicants should upload their resume, cover letter, and full contact information for three professional references.Position Number: 00110696Position Type: EHRA Non-FacultyFull Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0Appointment: 12 Month RecurringDepartment ID: 140110 - CLAWSNC State University is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
