The GLG team seeks an Associate General Counsel to join the Legal Department in the New York headquarters. The role will have many touchpoints with the business and issue spotting in addition to reactive problem solving will be imperative.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in an organized, efficient, and proactive manner. The candidate must demonstrate confidence in advising senior management members and stakeholders along with showcasing impeccable trustworthiness. This position requires high-level collaboration and team management skills, engaging both internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to use external counsel as appropriate to inform the advice to be given. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Providing ongoing advice to the human resources department on employee relations matters and human resources complianceAdvising the business on U.S. and international privacy matters.Monitor and interpret court decisions and newly enacted laws, rules and regulations relevant to the companyManage responses to any subpoenas and discovery requestsWork with contracting attorneys on key provisions to client and vendor agreementsHandle escalations that arise from client and vendor diligence inquiriesHandle challenging legal matters from clients, experts and vendorsProvide legal advice and support to multiple business segments, including Product development, Accounting, Finance, Business Development and Client ServicesCandidate ProfileAn Ideal Candidate Will Have The FollowingLaw degree (LL.B. or higher) from a top law university, with demonstrated excellent academic performance5+ years' of litigation experience required; clerk and employment law experience are pluses but not requiredMust be fluent in MS office and comfortable with new technology.Exceptional written and oral English communication skillsWhat We OfferBenefits: All U.S. GLGers also have access to benefits such as:Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your first day of employmentFlexible paid time off.
