Remember to check your CV before applying Also, ensure you read through all the requirements related to this role.OverviewTo plan, manage and direct the functions of the Enterprise Data Analytics Engineering branch, which includes development, engineering, implementation, operation and support of Navy Federal's data analytics platforms across data centers and multi-cloud. Partner with leaders across the organization to develop and operationalize high quality business intelligence and analytics platforms to achieve operational excellence and business agility. Serve as subject matter expert regarding branch functions, systems, policies and procedures. Support executive management in developing and executing strategic plans. May act VP in the incumbent's absence.ResponsibilitiesManage and direct all aspects of the Enterprise Data Analytics engineering platforms, including strategy, planning, development, engineering and operationsDefine overall reporting and analytics strategy around platforms and tools across the enterprise accelerating Navy Federal's journey to be a data driven organizationManage the Enterprise Data Analytics platforms including Data Lake and Data Warehouse which form the core data repository for reporting and analyticsLead and oversee engineering, implementation and operations of business intelligence analyses, reporting, and dashboard platformsMonitor and mitigate any performance, scalability or sustainability issues with platforms or application componentsResponsible for managing risk and security within the platforms in partnership with Information Security and Risk and Compliance teamsCoordinate compilation and analysis of operational data to establish standard for new designs and modifications to existing platformsOversee quality control audits to ensure platforms follow Information Security standardsPartner with business stakeholders to identify new data requirements, analysis strategies and reporting solutionsWork with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and define, validate, and measure core performance metricsOversee the development of business cases for new features and product concepts to enhance platformsStrong executive presence with proven skills to identify and recommend new and/or changes to existing service enabling tools to managementIdentify and mitigate project risks, forecast development timelines, budget and ensure communication of project status throughout the project lifecycle to all stakeholdersGuide and analyze benchmarking, trend analysis and other input to drive continuous improvement, elevate service performance, and maximize operational efficiencyIdentify and resolve operational and performance gaps and obstacles; implement changes and improvementsManage and direct operations to ensure targets, service level agreements and corporate objectives are metOversee the evaluation of operational efficiency and effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements by researching and analyzing internal and/or external industry trends, markets and other operational benchmarksAnticipate internal and/or external business challenges including regulatory; recommend process, product and service enhancementsContribute to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines, communicating knowledge and business processes to other business unitsBuild and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and external contacts (e.g., vendors, etc.)Work closely with the business on the identification and development of key performance indicators to deliver performance insightsOversee and facilitate discussions with stakeholders, subject-matter experts, business leaders, and end-users to understand business requirements and data reporting needsLead and direct the development and presentation of studies and analysis that influence decision makingManage partnerships and collaboration with key business partners to identify critical needs, devise solutions, and facilitate the attainment of business objectivesContinually monitor the financial services industry technology landscape to track the latest innovations across the industry and communicate relevant information to ETS (Enterprise Technology Services) leadershipProvide overall leadership to large strategic projects or programsProvide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practicesPerform supervisory/managerial responsibilitiesSet direction to ensure goals and objectives align with corporate and division strategySelect management and other key personnel; oversee talent development/succession planningCollaborate with leadership/executive colleagues to develop/execute corporate initiatives and/or department strategyOversee the preparation and execution of AFP (Annual Financial Planning)Manage merit pay in accordance with specified objectives and guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experienceSignificant experience working in a large-scale IT organization with responsibility for overseeing platforms including for enterprise reporting and analytics, data lake, data warehouse, preferably in a large financial services organization or other major B2C corporationSignificant experience in working with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, etc.)Significant experience in working with ETL platforms (e.g., Databricks) and query engines (e.g., Azure Synapse)Significant experience working with data visualization and reporting tools including self-service (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)Significant experience in Data Lake, Data Warehousing, Data Marts, and Data Lakes architecture and principlesSignificant experience in working with real-time data streaming tools (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)Significant experience in data management, data mining, data analytics, data reporting, and data product developmentSignificant experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing and associated technologies both on premise and in the cloudSignificant experience with cloud deployment models and containerization techniquesAdvanced knowledge of data governance and metadata managementAdvanced knowledge of project management methodologies using Agile delivery and frameworks (e.g. SAFE)Advanced knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Advanced skill in strategy development and decision-making using holistic data integration and objective data analyticsSignificant experience in managing multiple strategic partnerships through continuous collaborationSignificant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendorsExpert research, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skillsSignificant experience in supervising and leading professional IT employeesSignificant experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative taking, and decision-makingAdvanced skill to effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues and information clearly and concisely to all levels of management and staffAdvanced skill to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomesAdvanced skill developing and implementing programs in a leadership role, providing vision and strategic thinking around a full range of technical decisions and issues including product roadmapsAdvanced skill producing desired results and achieving goals and objectivesExpert verbal, interpersonal and written communication skillsDesired QualificationsMaster's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Security, or related fieldAdvanced knowledge of Navy Federal functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectivesHours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PMLocation: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180About UsNavy Federal provides much more than a job.
