Excellent pay and benefitsSafe and responsible operationsCareer development opportunitiesPotential full-time employment at the conclusion of the programEssential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policiesReceive oral or written direction from the shop foreman on plans for the day's tasksReads job order and observes and listens to equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work proceduresAssists in the instillation, repair, and preventative maintenance for various equipment and vehiclesAssists with all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensures state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailersApplies classroom techniques to regularly scheduled maintenance and repair activitiesOther duties as assignedRequired Skills, Education, and ExperienceEnrollment in an accredited technical high school or technical high school program in auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, or related fieldBasic math and communication skillsAble and willing to work an abbreviated 2nd shift scheduleAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job) Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience1 year completed study in the related technical fieldPrevious co-op or internship experiencePhysical DemandsFrequently required toStoop, crouch, kneelUse hands to finger, feel, and graspOccasionally required toStand, walk, sit, talk, hear, climb, balance, and crawlLift and/or move up to 75 pounds Work EnvironmentNoise level is loud at timesRequired to work outdoors in all environments at times H&K Group, Inc. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
