Unlike traditional custodial roles, this position focuses on keeping the Aquatic Center sparkling clean and welcoming for all visitors. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including litter management, floor care, restroom maintenance, cleaning windows and doors, and setting up and tearing down for events. Job Duties Perform heavy-duty cleaning and related maintenance work during highly participated sporting events and banquet hall functions. Clean and maintain stadium seats, concourses, corridors, stairways, rooms, and large gathering spaces. Safeguard exterior sidewalks, patios, and stairwells; using blowers and pressure washers as needed.Perform high volume trash management, recycling, and compost. Clean, sanitize, and maintain large public restrooms, locker rooms, fixtures, and surface areas throughout the facility, to include properly responding to spills and biohazardous incidents.Complete work assignments efficiently using initiative, problem-solving skills, and good judgment. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualifications You Bring: Demonstrated experience with basic janitorial cleaning techniques and cleaning products/chemicals.Experience in the use and care of cleaning equipment such as a floor scrubber, floor buffer, and other applicable cleaning equipment.Knowledge of risk management principles and safety practices (for example: MSDS, chemical safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), preventative training, etc).Capable of engaging and building relationships with individuals from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds, while effectively working both independently and as part of a team.Computer proficient to complete timesheets, read and respond to email, and perform some administrative tasks.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Experience working competitive athletics events. Supplemental Information Working Conditions:Work Location:This position is located at King County Aquatics Center, 650 SW Campus Dr., Federal Way, WA 98023Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. The work schedule is Thursday - Tuesday 11 AM - 9:30 PM. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
