Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.We're hiring a Manager of Merchandise & Marketing to be accountable for the Washington Spirit's merch strategy and execution, as a part of the marketing team. Your background in design allows you to think in an innovative way about how a sports organization brings product to life. You have experience in the development of merchandise that embodies self-expression, monitoring trends, and managing marketing projects. You report directly to the Senior Director of Marketing. You work very closely with our Marketing, Fan Experience, and Community Development teams.The Manager of Merchandise & Marketing will:Build out a 12-month product calendar with the goal of raising YoY revenue both online & in-stadium.Collaborate with Ticketing and Fan Experience teams on design and procurement of promotional giveaways.Design new merchandise pieces for regular season and one-offs including theme nights and special events.Manage our concessionaire, Soccer Post, from internal orders to revenue reporting.Collaborate internally with the content and marketing teams on the promotion and sale of new merchandise.Hire and manage seasonal teammates for home matches.Support the matchday & special event merchandise operations, including the set-up and tear-down of our merch stands.Assist marketing team with projects as assigned.Our ideal candidate has:3+ years of similar experienceExperience with Photoshop and Illustrator requiredExperience in driving the transformation of a sports entity to a lifestyle brandProven ability to deliver fresh new ideasOrganized and able to manage multiple simultaneous projects, while achieving deadlinesExperience positively managing vendors &/or staffAbility to implement long-term planning & deliver short-term executionCan push self- & others in an ambiguous environment(s)Entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindsetModels positive energy & handles stress wellJob RequirementsAvailable to work nights, weekends & holidays as needed based on sporting and events calendarWhile the listed qualifications are important, we recognize that unique skills and experiences can bring fresh perspectives to our team.
