If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Communications/Marketing department is a data-driven department that is seeking a marketing and social media coordinator who will be a liaison between the department and the college community. Candidates should be proactive and take initiative, be skilled in customer service, proficient in project management, be a competent writer with strong social media knowledge and strategy background.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCoordinate and implement initiatives in support of the marketing department's strategies, goals and objectives.Coordinate, project manage, and traffic all creative and public relations jobs in the department; including, the coordination of project workflow data in Smartsheet.Be the point of contact for department projects and requests.Work with the Digital/Website Coordinator to produce and implement social media content and engagement.Work with the Assistant Director of UX/UI Design and Design Services to create graphic design pieces for social media and other platforms.Assist with emergency social media announcements.Open all department job numbers and create work back schedules.Assist in the development, execution, tracking and refinement of marketing efforts.Assist other departments on behalf of the marketing department at college events/functions.Coordinate and maintain supply of promotional items.Continually track media coverage and generate reports.Coordinate part of the monthly Board of Trustees report.Create and maintain media lists as needed.Develop content for the social media that can be leveraged for the website.Create written content for Transformations magazine, and social media in concert with the Website/Digital Content and Website Accessibility Coordinator.Update flyers and other creative assets as needed.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in marketing or communications or comparable work experience. Experience in higher education a plus.Solutions-oriented self-starter with a strong desire to grow.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to write in a style that matches the college voice and brand.Experience in project management.Exceptional proofreading skills.Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and issue resolution skills.Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and social media platforms.Experience in Smartsheet a plus.Experience with Photoshop, InDesign and other Adobe products.Strong attention to detail.SEO/SEM knowledge a plus.Knowledge in creating external and internal communications materials such as press releases, collateral, articles and flyers.Creative mind that thinks outside of the box.Ability to work efficiently with detail under time constraints.Employs a high-level of enthusiasm and excellent customer service.Must be a team player and solid communicator.Photography and video editing skills a plus.Knowledge of AP Style a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.Proficiency in PowerPoint.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONCompensation: Salary is $5,836 per month. Working hours are typically 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; some evening and weekend hours as needed. Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and other insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under Public Employees Benefits Board, State Retirement Plan and a Deferred Compensation Plan; sick leave accrues at 1 day effective upon employment and vacation accrues at 25 days per year.
