The Public Affairs department is a team comprised of marketing, communications, editorial, website, design, social media, and digital media professionals dedicated to furthering Juilliard's mission of providing the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers, and actors from around the world. Reporting to the Vice President of Public Affairs, the Director of Marketing, Community Relations will develop and execute full-scale, data-driven campaigns that engage Juilliard's growing global community of patrons, alumni, donors, and the general public. This individual will work closely with colleagues responsible for content development to support earned and mission-driven revenue with strategically deployed messaging campaigns. They will manage and support marketing database technology projects to ensure customer data from all areas is utilized to its fullest potential. Use data and analytics to generate ticketing and other reports, manage contact lists, measure impact of campaigns, and shape conversion strategies. Work closely with Public Affairs team colleagues, in particular the Director of Marketing, Admissions & Recruiting.Juilliard is currently recruiting for this position as a temp-to-hire role. Our organizational values focus on excellence, creative enterprise, and equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.We encourage you to read more about how we achieve our mission on our website, juilliard.edu.Role Responsibilities:Develop and promote deeper community and patron relationships in support of earned and mission-driven revenue to achieve Juilliard's mission of providing students with the highest caliber education.In collaboration with cross-departmental leadership, develop campaign strategies for free and ticketed events, continuing education, Hire Juilliard Performers, and the Juilliard Store.In collaboration with the fundraising team, coordinate and facilitate the communication of patron data across teams in support of both earned and mission-driven revenue.Build, test, deploy, and oversee all institutional email campaigns including monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on email performance.Support the IT team in marketing database technology projects and integrations to ensure customer data is utilized to its fullest potential.Develop and manage performance season marketing campaigns, leading close collaboration with artistic departments, box office, development, recital operations, media production, and public affairs teams.Assist in marketing and customer relationship activities and increase the relationships and therefore the value of existing audiences.Data-driven analysis and planning, including ticketing reports.Support Search Engine Marketing and implement and manage paid social media campaigns.Ensure consistency of voice and branding in all communications.Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices including accessibility and data privacy laws domestic and globally.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree and 8+ years relevant work experience, including demonstrated experience with marketing, communications, campaign building, and business development.Excellent written communication skills, including copywriting and editing.Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks within a fast-paced business environment.Ability to troubleshoot and identify technical issues and communicate effectively with internal constituents and external vendors.Capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to represent the Juilliard brand well in all aspects of the job.Hands-on experience with CRMs such as Campus Solutions (Oracle), Raiser's Edge, Spektrix, or comparable platforms such as Tessitura, as well as email platforms such as NetCommunity, Eloqua, or others.Eye for design and layout; experience in the use of image editing software.Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS helpful.Preferred Background:Significant exposure to and/or knowledge of the performing arts or experience working in higher education are preferred.Master's level education is a plus.Please note that cover letters are required of all applicants.Nondiscrimination Policy:The Juilliard School is committed to a policy of equal treatment and opportunity in every aspect of its relations with its faculty, staff, students, and other members of the Juilliard community, and does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religion, creed, age, sex, national origin, alienage, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation or preference, gender identity, physical or mental disability, medical condition, predisposing genetic characteristics, marital status, partnership status, or any other basis prohibited by applicable local, state, or federal law.
