PR & Communications Job DescriptionOur Director, Commercial Real Estate PR & Communications will promote Nickerson and our clients by developing communications strategies and programs to promote and gain overall brand recognition for our commercial real estate and proptech partners across our portfolio. This role will require a strong background in commercial real estate, as well as significant and relevant PR & Communications industry experience to guide and inform our developer, owner/operator, and other CRE industry client-partners. We are looking for a well-connected communicator who understands how to engage with a wide variety of audiences through relevant channels including consumer, trade, corporate and social channels. Candidate must be a sophisticated writer and thinker and have an understanding of how to engage with the wide variety of the audiences we serve.Responsibilities:Lead the strategy and execution of long- and short-term high impact PR and integrated marketing campaigns for Real Estate clients including media tours, feature story development and pitching, social media programs, press releases, award programs, persona messaging, executive speaker placement, etc.Serve as a main point of contact for Nickerson's commercial real estate client-partnersLead client-partnerships, establishing and driving on communications strategiesSupport the management of client expectations, ensuring projects remain within scopeIdentify business development opportunities within current client-partner relationshipsBuild and maintain relationships with key reporters, editors, and analystsServe as main point of contact for external media inquiriesManage projects to ensure all action items/deliverables are metPrepare and deliver performance metrics to Leadership TeamEnsure team managed is achieving and maintaining utilization, required billable ratesManage coordinators and managersReview team's work to ensure accuracy and qualityCollaborate across creative services, events, and social media departments to develop and execute integrated communications programsReact quickly to and assist in the management of crisis situationsAdhere to agency systems, processes and best practices, serving as example for broader Nickerson teamFoster a sense of culture across the team and agencyHold at least one (1) leadership role in an industry organizationAttend networking events monthlyThe ideal candidate will have:Knowledge of the commercial real estate space, ideally 10+ years of experience within the industryDemonstrated exemplary writing and critical-thinking abilitiesDemonstrated ability to effectively manage external communications, public affairs, and media relations campaign developmentDemonstrated ability to lead client-partner accountsPrevious experience with client management/engagement/successA proven record of placing clients in top tier publications (tech, general interest, real estate trade, etc.)Competence in Microsoft365 including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams and OneDrivePrevious experience with project management software (preferably Asana)Experience managing a CRM (preferably Salesforce)A willingness to represent the agency at networking events and through professional membershipsThe ability to adapt and add value within a highly innovative agencyLocation and Travel:Applicants must currently reside and have an established track record in Boston or New York City for consideration. We are not considering applicants in other locations at this time.While the job is remote, you will be expected to attend meetings and events in Boston or New York City.
