Cardinal Kung Academy is a classical, college preparatory junior high and high school founded in 2018 and serving grades six through twelve. The academically rigorous Catholic school is a diocesan high school located in Stamford, CT, a short ride from NYC by commuter train. The program emphasizes reading original texts, use of the Socratic method, an integrated curriculum and an appreciation of the arts.In order to make an application, simply read through the following job description and make sure to attach relevant documents.The ideal candidate is an energetic, joyful and organized instructor responsible for planning, preparing, teaching, grading and sharing his/her love for the Latin language. This is a program aimed at giving students access to the riches of the Western canon and the patrimony of the Catholic Church, and an ability to convey enthusiasm while leading students through the rigors of language acquisition is essential. Candidates need at least a bachelor's degree and experience teaching Latin at the middle or high school level.This role will be responsible for teaching Latin from the introductory to AP level, as well as a 9th-grade course in Ancient History (to complement 9th-grade courses in Ancient Literature and Sacred Scripture). Although there may be need for a course at the middle school level, the primary responsibility is at the high school level. You will join a Latin faculty comprised of another full-time Latin teacher as well as several colleagues teaching lower-level Latin courses.This role may be filled by several part-time instructors or a single full-time instructor.
