Design proposals must go beyond balancing the needs of both groups to exciting them both with net-new benefits.Key job responsibilitiesAct as a vocal advocate for shoppers and sellers in stakeholder meetingsContribute to product strategy via doc writing (PRFAQs), ideation, and design reviewsDeliver solutions for complex customer, design, and technical problemsRefine design patterns, standards, methods, and/or processes, helping to drive adoption of these across teams.Share knowledge effectively with peers and stakeholders to drive cross-team alignmentCommunicate and collaborate with partner teamsProvide solutions that demonstrate knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of the technology stackLeverage high judgement to make trade-offs between shopper and seller needs without losing focus on eitherWork with UXR and partner teams to identify and aggregate disparate qualitative and quantitative data to inform design solutions at the product levelFind the best way forward and influence others to follow that path (build consensus) or escalate appropriatelyContribute to the professional development of colleagues via mentorship, reviews, and leadershipA day in the lifeThis designer receives a request to help address a gap in the Amazon experience and sets up a sync with stakeholders to learn more. They identify the key issue and use Dive Deep to identify causes, impacts, and solutions.Throughout their ideation and proposal they proactively communicate with key stakeholders (like product, engineering, and/or partner design teams) to identify problems, opportunities, and net-new ideas whether in response to a request or independently.They bring ideas to their team for input and share their learnings with their team members.About The TeamThe Sponsored Products UX and product teams leverage research and direct anecdotes from customers to identify shopper needs that aren't being met. We work collaboratively across multiple teams (retail, personalization, brand, and 3P teams) to build experiences that make Amazon a wonderful place to explore, discover, shop, and play.Basic Qualifications6+ years of design experienceExperience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey mapsHave an available online portfolioExperience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AjaxExperience working collaboratively and proactively across teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standardsExperience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in natureKnowledge of usability principles and techniquesExperience designing customer facing retail productsExperience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexityExperience working with Figma, Figjam, Slack, and QuipAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market.
