About The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced UX / Web Designer and Content Entry Specialist (Contractor) to join our extended team as our UX, web design, and content entry needs ebb and flow with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role in the future. The ideal candidate has experience in working with the core WordPress block editor/Gutenberg block editor. You will be responsible for visual design for B2B websites including sitemaps and wireframes, content strategy, and overall visual design of entire websites, and assisting in transferring and styling content into the new client websites. You'll work with our design and development team to match pre-defined page layouts in the CMS and alter them when necessary to create thoughtful layouts and engaging content with a focus on user experience. This is a remote / WFH contract project-based position where hours may ebb and flow week-to-week but with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role with our team. About You: You're a creative, detail oriented, and optimistic self-starter. You are a skilled communicator, excellent with technology, and able to figure things out on the fly, as well as follow a detailed process. You're a natural problem solver, and can spot ways to improve existing processes for better efficiency or accountability. You're a lifelong learner and you understand how business works in a way that allows you to translate a client's business, marketing, and sales goals into concrete, executable recommendations. You're confident presenting and explaining your work and flexible to client and team collaboration, always shepherding the client toward the best solution to meet their needs and goals. A background and/or understanding of professional services for an ad agency, marketing firm or web development company is a bonus. Key Responsibilities: Build thoughtful and visually appealing layouts for web pages using the WordPress native block editor Create effective UX and visual design deliverables including sitemaps, navigation, wireframes, UI visual design, and UX strategy of marketing, lead-generation focused websites, and e-commerce websites If you have graphic design/brand design experience, you may occasionally work on print collateral and brand assets. (Print design experience is not required, but is a plus.) Collaborate with our team to understand client needs and deliver smart solutions that provide value and optimize usability, business, and technical needs Provide guidance and recommendations to clients on how to improve their website's user experience Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and ensure that all projects are completed on time and to a high standard Update existing websites with layouts and designs that adhere to or improve upon existing standard Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in UX / web design and managing content in WordPress Strong understanding of the Gutenberg block editor Able to work in a Mac environment with experience in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision. Familiarity with complementary disciplines including marketing and business strategy, human interaction, SEO principles, accessibility standards, content strategy, and user experience Personally accountable, responsible, and dedicated to creating value and success for Windmill and our clients Strong organization, prioritization, and project coordination skills, including the ability to juggle several projects and deadlines concurrently when needed Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work quickly when needed, be flexible to changes and strike a strong balance between perfectionism and value for the client Proficiency in swiftly acquiring new skills and adeptly navigating diverse subject areas An optimistic, can-do attitude, effective listening skills, assertiveness, and objectivity #J-18808-Ljbffr
