Interfaith is the most comprehensive social services agency in North County, providing both immediate safety net services and long-term, life-changing programs designed to meet the holistic needs of people in crisis. Together, in partnership with 250+ diverse faith communities, more than 650 recurrent volunteers, and a growing staff of over 200, Interfaith provides a safe haven and pathway towards self-sufficiency for more than 17,000 community members annually.WHAT YOU WILL DO: This position is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and connecting service providers, volunteers/interns to homeless families within the family shelter program, including but not limited to planning activities, outings, and events to create a positive environment while promoting mental health well-being. This position will interact closely with a team of case managers, resident coordinators, behavioral health clinicians, clients, interns, community partners, program leadership, and staff to provide intensive support to help get homeless families back to self-sufficiency.Access the needs and interests of the families and plan activities accordingly, as well as welcome residents' suggestions.Plan, create, and facilitate activities, outings, and events that will help create a safe, fun, and positive shelter environment.Coordinate and schedule groups of service providers, volunteers, and interns who will host activities with residents.Manage monthly activities calendar and encourage resident participation.Facilitate group or individual activities.Help set up and break down activities and events.Ensure safety of clients and program areas.Secure all equipment and facility at the end of each event.Ability to work independently and professionally with partnering agencies, faith centers, volunteers, interns, and other community members.Develop trusting relationships with individuals and families.Ability to supervise interns and volunteers.Complete accurate and thorough documentation in a timely manner for each program participant as required by funders.Ensure the confidentiality of client information.Participate in case management meetings, staff meetings, trainings, conferences, program evaluation, and program development.Meet regularly with supervisors.Perform additional duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONMinimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.1+ years of relevant work experience required.Experience working with severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations preferred.Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record for insurability under the agency's insurance carrier's standards.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.EMPLOYMENT BENEFITSPaid Time OffPaid Holidays - 13 scheduledFlexible Work SchedulesMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceAD&D / Group Life InsuranceFlexible Spending Accounts - Medical and Dependent CareMatched 401(k) Retirement PlanEarly Release Days!Work Anniversary BonusesTuition Reimbursement and Public Service Loan Forgiveness EligibilityEmployee Assistance Plan (EAP)Home Ownership Assistance ProgramCasual Work EnvironmentProfessional Growth and Career Development OpportunitiesInterfaith is an equal opportunity employer.
