The Product Designer II is an interdisciplinary role responsible for designing how users interact with products and services. They bring product design skills and an ability to conceptualize, ideate, test, and implement design solutions that meet the needs and goals of users, clients, and organizations. They are experts at capturing, synthesizing, and communicating complex ideas and translating them into simple and intuitive solutions.Responsibilities And ContributionsOrganizational and Leadership RoleIndependently executes and implements solutions with minimal direction from senior Designers or team leaders.Coaches and mentors others to develop their professional skills and improve the quality of their work.Strengthens Fearless' product design community and fosters positive collaboration across the company.Functional RoleCollaborationWorks with Product Owners and Engineers to conceptualize and prioritize features, flows, and user interfaces for development.Collaborates with Designers, Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Product Managers to guide design best practices within the team to ensure that customer goals, user needs and business needs are met.Engages with Engineers and technical leads to implement features that meet design specifications and deliver business value.Research and StrategyCollaborates with other Designers and team members to define and execute research strategies.Captures, synthesizes, and oversees the communication of the needs and goals of users, technical and business stakeholders, clients, and Engineers.Implements user requirements specifications & experience goals, personas, storyboards, journey maps, scenarios, flowcharts, and design specifications.Collects and synthesizes large amounts of conflicting information and uses it to implement simple designs and provide recommendations for change to a system.ImplementationManages and maintains the utilization and implementation of robust design systems throughout a project's life cycle.Designs wireframes, low and high fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UIs).Assesses and improves the usability of products through research, rapid prototyping, and usability testing.Develops and applies frameworks for implementing user experience, such as style guides, component libraries, and design systems.Collaborates with the team and customer to define and measure success metrics.Reviews design artifacts and provides feedback to others to ensure that the deliverables meet high quality standards.Must-Have SkillsA minimum of 8 years of demonstrated related working experienceDemonstrated experience working with experience designing reports and Power BIAbility to authoritatively communicate and facilitate discussion around usability, accessibility and interaction design.Experience with visual and user interface design, including typography, layout, color theory and common interaction patterns.Experience with interaction design and front-end technologies.Experience designing and applying style guides, component libraries, frontend frameworks and design systems.Ability to work collaboratively within a group, actively network with others and provide varying feedback to the team at the appropriate time to ensure that decisions stick.Ability to select the appropriate prototyping method for the task at hand.Ability to identify and communicate constraints and can work within them.Experience establishing, iterating, and documenting on design patterns to solve problems.Ability to effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale and goals both verbally and visually.Experience using a variety of design and prototyping tools.Experience implementing and coaching others on design best practices and standards.Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, build relationships, and influence others.Icing-on-the-Cake SkillsExperience with a broad experience with human-centered design methods.Experience conducting research and usability testing, and translating insights into action.Experience working in agile, including an awareness of agile tools and how to use them.Experience implementing 508 accessibility standards.Experience managing stakeholder relationships.Experience writing with front-end technologies such as HTML & CSS.Experience working with Government customers.Benefits & CompensationOur people make us who we are.
