Digital Content Specialist Position Highlights: Position: Digital Content Specialist Location: Evanston, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm Required Travel: N/A Job Summary As the Digital Content Specialist at NorthShore - Edward-Elmhurst Health, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing industry-leading digital experiences for existing and prospective patients and team members across the organization's digital experiences, such as websites, intranets, portals, emails, and digital signage. In this role, you will help maintain existing digital experiences and build new ways to connect our primary audiences with meaningful content. You will also create and analyze digital media and web reports to recommend how to enhance the design, functionality and user experience of our digital experiences and later, implement these changes. As a key driver of SEO, you will be responsible for taxonomy, tagging, information architecture and monitoring of organic performance. This role is part of the Digital Marketing team and reports to the System Manager, Digital Content & Experience. In this role, you will manage assigned website content requests and perform website content updates. You will work with cross-functional teams to establish and articulate internal and external key messages online and ensure digital content supports our strategic objectives and aligns with our brand's voice and tone. Focused time management and a problem-solving mindset, as well as the ability to prioritize, are all keys to success in this position. Essential Job Functions Build, update and maintain digital content on digital platforms, such as content management system (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM), video platforms and other tools. Manage and prioritize website requests from marketing and external departments. Critically evaluate content updates and ensure quality control of changes. Collaborate with content producers on building website content, design and visual elements. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content is updated in a timely manner, with a high level of accuracy and is in alignment with established goals. Track deliverable progress and proactively report out to internal and external stakeholders on tasks completed. Ensure content is accurate, visually appealing, consistently represented, functional across browsers, easily navigable and is put together in a way that maximizes engagement through an exceptional user experience. Conduct user testing and use analyses to assess effectiveness of the websites and discusses usability issues internally with the team. Troubleshoot and correct website issues with support from our website host and partner. Assist in QA testing of our websites. Execute the organization's search engine optimization (SEO) strategy, including tagging, structure and taxonomy and ensure web content is found by consumers who are looking for healthcare services, information, and solutions. Identify opportunities to remediate and optimize site architecture, infrastructure, sitemaps, robots.txt file, canonical URL, metadata and other factors. Monitor website analytics regularly to ensure site improvements are proving effective. Understand and remain up to date on the latest SEO standards. Work with team to maintain accessibility and ADA compliance on all digital experiences. Ensure compliance with the organization's web editorial style guide and brand standards. Education, Experience & Licensure Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field. Minimum Length and Nature of Experience Required: 1-2 years or more years of website content administration or a related field. 1-2 years or more years of working in leading CMS platforms. Minimum Length and Nature of Experience Preferred: Three (3) or more years of website content administration or a related field. Two (2) or more years of working in leading CMS platforms. One (1) or more years of healthcare experience. Special Knowledge and Skills Required: Proven experience using HTML and CSS to build digital content as well as digital best practices. Experience in web page design and user experience. Experience using Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of basic UI/UX principles and SEO techniques. Experience using website analytics, such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Piwik PRO, HotJar and Crazy Egg. Proven digital project management capabilities. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well as part of a team and individually. Ability to work cross-departmentally and inter-departmentally. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline and detail driven environment.
