GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To provide effective planning, coordinations and execution of the liturgical celebrations of the parish. Coordinates and directs the parish music program as well as teaches music to the school students in collaboration with the pastor and school principal. Collaborate with thepastor/school principal in implementing the mission of the parish andschool. Direct the parish worshipprogram by developing and organizing plans which respond to the parish'sworship needs. Coordinate liturgicalcelebrations and the recruitment and selection of musicians,instrumentalists when needed. Conduct weekly rehearsals ofparish choir and school choir as needed. Develop and administer musiceducation curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives. Available for ministry atweddings, funerals and special liturgical events. Coordinate with other staffmembers and participate in faculty and weekly office staff meetings. NECESSARYQUALIFICATIONS: Active and participatingmember of the Roman Catholic Faith in good standing.Ability to play at sightkeyboard and organ and ability to sing with accurate pitch andrhythm. Ability to direct choirs foradults and children, provide vocal training for cantors and teach musicliterature as appropriate. Knowledge of Roman Catholicliturgy and familiarity with the Lectionary and Sacramentary.Enthusiastic willingness towork with people demonstrating joy in service of God's people. Develop a balanced musicprogram and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequatetime for preparation, rehearsal and instruction. While performing the dutiesof this job, the candidate may be required to stand, walk, reach, stoop,lift and move items up to 25 lbs. EXPERIENCE: Successful prior teachingexperience in music preferred.SALARY:Thisposition is a full-time position which requires a flexible time scheduleof 40 -50 hours a week.?Thestarting salary for this position is $45,000 plus additional money forplaying funerals and weddings.
