A key member of the Executive Team, this individual is a self-starter who rolls up his or her sleeves to keep the JCC and its staff, members, and community informed and inspired. The Director of Marketing & Communications leads the agency in developing and implementing marketing and public relations plans, work plans, and philanthropy communication plans in collaboration with the Executive Team and program leadership. In addition, this individual maintains primary responsibility for the operations, management, and supervision of the agency's Marketing Department and manages independent contractors and volunteers, including writers, designers, photographers and others, and represents the JCC at meetings, seminars and conferences.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:Collaborates with senior leadership team, department/program leadership, and other professional staff at the JCC to develop and implement fully integrated and strategic marketing plans to achieve agency objectives.Collaborates with department directors and staff to support their programs with effective communications, program information, and marketing pieces.Oversees and manages the workflow for all print and digital communications.Works with agency staff to keep social media presence relevant and current.Plans and oversees advertising, promotion, and communication activities including print, web, social media, email, video and direct mail.Develops and implements a Style Guide and maintains branding standards throughout all lines of business, promotional materials and events.Works with CEO for crisis management/communications when needed.Develops and manages the budget of the Marketing Department.Manages internal agency communications.Manages and directs the Marketing Department staff with an emphasis on creative direction and project management.Works with printers, sign companies and other vendors required for communication production.Oversees website management, messaging and content, including design, maintenance, updates and links.Attends and participates at JCC Board meetings as assigned.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Designs, replaces, approves all building signage, indoors and out.Edits written materials submitted by staff.Participates in staff meetings and staff trainings.Participates in agency-wide programs and program committees as assigned.Works at events and some evenings and weekends as needed.Oversees delivery and outgoing mail via partnership with Special Needs Services.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Relevant college degree plus a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in marketing and communication experience.Min. 3 years design, layout and pre-press experience.Must have strong writing, proofreading and organizational skills.Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including ability and desire to work in a team environment and effectively counsel non-marketing staff on appropriate marketing and branding techniques.Computer skills: Expert Knowledge of Mailchimp, Facebook/Instagram (including Facebook Ads Manager), YouTube, Microsoft Office, Trello or comparable Project Management Software, iMovie and Lightroom or comparable photo and video editing software, Survey Monkey, Dropbox, Zoom, and Teams.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Google Analytics, Formstack and Netpulse.Proven aptitude for learning and implementing new and proprietary software applications.Strong social media and photography skills a plus.Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure, which from time to time may include working beyond the 40 hour work week.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The JCC work environment is representative of an office setting. The marketing department is deadline driven and successful candidate must be self-directed. This job requires extensive computer work (keyboarding, reading monitor, etc.).
