NoCounty: KingsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field;Proven experience in communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably within a political or government setting;Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills. Spanish-bilinguals are strongly encouraged to apply.Duties Description:Develop and implement a strategic communications plan that aligns with the Assembly Member;Serve as the primary spokesperson, managing all media inquiries and coordinating interviews, press conferences and public statements;Draft, edit and distribute press releases, speeches, newsletters and other communication materials;Manage the Assembly Member's social media presence, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement with constituents;Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing the Assembly Member with timely updates and advice on communication strategies;Coordinate with legislative and community affairs teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and events;Organize and promote public events, town halls and press conferences;Build and maintain relationships with local and state media outlets, community leaders and other stakeholders;Handle crisis communications and develop strategies to address any negative publicity or issues that may arise;Assist in drafting policy briefs, op-eds and other content that supports the Assembly Member's legislative agenda.Additional Comments:Knowledge of the political landscape and issues affecting the 68th district; flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events & crises.Submissions must include: a cover letter, resume and writing sample to be considered.Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.Contact Information:Name: Holly BrantleyTelephone: 518-455-4001Notes on Applying: Please write in the subject line of email: Communications Director-NY#J-18808-Ljbffr
