FunctionScroll down the page to see all associated job requirements, and any responsibilities successful candidates can expect.The Communications Director will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the credit union's internal and external communications. This role will serve as the primary spokesperson and manage public relations efforts, working closely with leadership, employees, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective messaging.Key Responsibilities:Internal Communication:Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.Lead, create, and manage internal news updates, memos, and other communication materials including Citadel intranet.Develop, direct, and project manage virtual and in person employee townhalls and meetings. Facilitate Communication between departments and senior leadership.External Communication:Oversee the creation and dissemination of external communication materials, including press releases, and social media content.Ensure consistent messaging across all external channels.Manage the credit union'swebsite communication content and updates.Spokesperson:Serve as the primary spokesperson for the credit union.Represent the credit union at public events, media interviews, and community engagements.Prepare and deliver speeches, presentations, and statements on behalf of the credit union.Train and support development of other team members to serve as spokespeople.Public Relations:Develop and execute public relations strategies to enhance the credit union's reputation and visibility.Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and community organizations.Manage crisis communication and develop contingency plans.Collaboration:Work closely with the Head of Marketing and senior leadership to align communication strategies with organizational goals.Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive and effective communication.Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and improve communication efforts.Measurement & Analysis:Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPI's) for communications, public relations, and earned media.Generate detailed ROI reporting.Qualifications and EducationBachelors' degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role.Proven experience in developing and executing communication strategies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.Established relationships with media contacts and outlets.Communication experience in financial services preferred.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.Experience in crisis communication and media relations.A natural ability to lead, inspire, and motivate others through written and verbal communications.Ability to think creatively and strategically.Genuine desire and affinity for collaborating with both internal and external resources, teams, and partners.Ability to maintain confidentiality, promote integrity, and support the corporate mission.Performance MeasurementsPerformance is based on the Citadel corporate scorecard as well as departmental and individual goals.
