Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual major and planned giving prospects with the capacity to give at or above $50,000. Strategically focused on building a strong base of individual donors to support the ambitious growth of the organization. Must have a solid understanding and demonstrated success in securing estate gifts and the ability to lead a planned giving program.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsible for the active portfolio of prospects and the development of cultivation and solicitation strategies that align with the Tri-C Foundation's priorities and prospect interests.Conducts regular prospect visits to develop and maintain the relationship and to secure major and planned gifts.Responsible for identifying new individual and planned giving prospects for Cuyahoga Community College Foundation.Oversees the stewardship of high-quality donor experience through correspondence, donor engagement, professional proposals, and acknowledgments.Develops and implements a comprehensive planned giving program for prospective and current donors.Serves as a gift planning resource, including training and supporting team members on deferred and planned gifts such as trusts, charitable annuities, life insurance, real estate, wills. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of best practices.Supports Vice President of Development and Executive Director with implementation of Foundation Board strategy including preparation for full board, committee and ad hoc meetings.Collaborates with Tri-C Foundation Directors, Vice President of Development, and College leadership team to design and implement a strategic development program including innovative, unique, and personalized outreach and experiences.Serves as a Tri-C Foundation representative at external functions and events.Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAININGBachelor's degree.Significant related experience may substitute for education.Minimum of six years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success in fundraising or similar field.Demonstrated experience in Planned Giving and success in securing major gifts.Demonstrated success in developing effective engagement and solicitation strategies for a diverse group of individual donors.Demonstrated success in securing estate gifts and the ability to lead a planned giving program.Demonstrated experience working with key constituencies, including donors and professional advisors.Demonstrated success making high-impact decisions within the department.Demonstrated experience with research and development of projects and plans.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIESAbility to think strategically to successfully negotiate with individuals and groups.Ability to balance competing priorities, complex gift scenarios, and tight deadlines.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.Possess working knowledge of grant writing concepts, practices, and procedures and their application in various scenarios.Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive client relationships.Ability to proficiently use a variety of internet tools and social networking sites as a sourcing tool.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that requires flexibility and a sense of urgency.Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity.Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality.Adaptability and leadership in maintaining complex and lasting donor relationships.Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.COMPETENCIESCRITICAL COMPETENCIESCommunication.Customer Service.Quality of Work.Results Focus.VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIESCollaboration/Inclusion.Service Leadership.Time utilization/Organization.IMPORTANT COMPETENCIESFlexibility/Adaptability.Continuous Improvement.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAININGMaster's degree in a related field.Demonstrated experience in grants and fundraising strategy.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS(The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
