The Safety Inspector supports the Safety Manager and enforces the company safety program. Provides technical insight, analysis, investigations, and risk management for all jobsites by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and state and federal safety regulations.Reports to: Safety ManagerCommunications Partners: Risk Manager, Human Resource Director, Chief Legal Officer, Marketing and Operations.Typical Duties:Promote McGuire & Hester safety program. Serves as a role model and champion for safety and safety compliance.Strives to attend daily Jobsite Huddles for all subsidiary companies in all geographical locations.Attends weekly safety department meeting.Perform jobsite safety inspections for all companies; completes accompanying paperwork and addresses existing and potential hazards with field management.Performs equipment and property inspections and reports any deviations back to Resource, if needed.Administers Safety Buck and Scratcher program at the field level and documents same.Use expertise to assist field management in pre-construction identification of safety issues and concerns and development of site-specific safety plans.Assist field management in creating and presenting hazard analysis for the daily huddle.Conduct jobsite safety meetings; discusses job specific safety issues with field management.Audit jobsite and employee compliance with company, state and federal policies and procedures.Assists Marketing Department by being a jobsite conduit for pictures, positive recognitions, and marketing suggestions.Assist field management in effective presentation of weekly tailgate and bi-yearly Safety Meetings.Conduct accident and injury investigations.Assist as directed, with employee training.Administer post-incident drug testing as needed.Maintain and enhance personal training levels.Assist Safety Manager and Risk Manager, as needed.Qualifications:Is this the next step in your career Find out if you are the right candidate by reading through the complete overview below.To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Education and Experience: OSHA 30-hour course; 40-hour HAZWOPER training (other safety Professional certificates recommended).Language Skills: Must be able to read and write in English at a professional level; bi-lingual in Spanish helpful.Mathematical Skills: Able to perform construction mathematics calculations.Plan and Specifications: Must have the ability to understand Plans and Specifications for each type of project the company constructs.Planning and Organizing: The individual prioritizes and plans work activities for themselves and others.Reasoning Ability: This position requires strong problem-solving skills, and reading comprehension; must deal with both standardized and non-standard situations with many variables.Interpersonal Skills: The ability to interface with a wide variety of people including clients, employees, managers, agencies, and the public; public speaking is required for this position.Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and train others to use company technology.Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Valid CA Driver's License and a clean driving record.Compensation:$35 - 45/hr, based on skills, experience, and knowledge.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.#J-18808-Ljbffr
