The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, and London.The Manager will play an integral role on the Engineering Finance team, which oversees the consolidation and analysis of financial information (OCF, Capital, Headcount, Allocations) across multiple lines of business. The position offers unique exposure to strategic planning that has an enterprise-wide impact. This role will report to the Director of Operational Finance and will manage one direct report.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport in all aspects of annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, analyzing key metrics and trends, and summarizing for executive level presentations for support areasEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial data, and provide regular reporting on financial performance, variances, and trendsIdentify and streamline system operations, reporting, and forecasting processes across the Engineering Finance teamsCollaborate with Operating, HR and Finance leads to tell an effective, concise, and consistent financial storySupport Controllership in monthly and quarterly closes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial performanceBuild effective business partner relationships with internal/external stakeholdersPerform various ad-hoc analyses including variance analysis, sensitivities, and other requests from senior managementManage a direct report, providing leadership, coaching, and development opportunities, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaborationLeadership and CultureBring a collaborative, hands-on approach to the work, and focus on team members' careers and professional developmentPromote a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverablesDevelop open communication and productive work relationships with senior leadership, operations leads, and the broader finance teamQualificationsBasic RequirementsBS/BA degree Finance, Accounting, or related fieldMinimum 4+ years public and/or private accounting or FP&A experience preferredProven financial and analytical skills including the ability to create complex financial models and efficiently communicate resultsMust be proficient with MS Office Suite products - particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsAccounting / GAAP knowledgeDesired CharacteristicsTeam Player with the ability to function in a cross functional environment and willingness to jump into projects to meet department goalsAbility to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve independentlyExcellent organization and time management skills; ability to deliver on multiple project assignments, meet tight deadlines and be effective under pressureExceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of finance, operations, and senior managementContinuous improvement attitude, ability to seek out and implement best practicesEntertainment / Media / Technology experience preferredSAP or Essbase knowledge preferred with exposure to BPC a plusAdditional RequirementsThis position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
