Senior Vice President of Legislative and Political Analysis | Washington AnalysisDepartment: Policy ResearchEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Washington, DCApply (by clicking the relevant button) after checking through all the related job information below.DescriptionWashington Analysis' Policy Analysts provide independent and objective analysis and forecasting to the global investment community. Our team delivers actionable and timely research to our clients regarding the investment implications of legislative, regulatory, political, and legal developments.The Senior Vice President will research, analyze, and forecast for the institutional investment community activity across fiscal, tax, and trade policy. Additionally, this individual will work with the analyst team on political and election coverage. Coverage will primarily include federal legislative, administrative, and political initiatives and developments, though will at times expand to state and other jurisdictions. The analyst will also respond to client inquiries on other policy special situations that impact companies and markets. The analyst will be responsible for producing written research and analysis, hosting topic-specific conference calls and events, and engaging directly with clients.This is not an entry-level position. Candidates are expected to have at least 8 years of relevant experience. Compensation and title negotiable based on experience. This role offers hybrid/remote flexibility, but strong preference for candidates in the Washington, DC area.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and analyze public policy themes and developments emanating from lawmakers, regulators, and the courts that present actionable investment opportunitiesProvide timely, forward-looking analysis of risks and opportunities affecting companies, sectors, and broader markets Publish research reports on material macro, fiscal, tax, and trade policy topicsHost events and conference calls with primary-source subject-matter experts on key topicsSpeak and travel to meet with institutional investors one-on-one and in group settings Conduct and coordinate due diligence research projects on tight deadlinesSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor's degree plus at least 8 years of relevant work experienceExperience analyzing, writing, and presenting on public policy developmentsStrong ability to communicate complex information effectively in writing and in person Prior fiscal, tax, and/or trade policy experience, either in institutional investment research, government, or outside stakeholder role (i.e., law firm, lobbying firm, trade association, advocacy group, think tank, advisory firm)Firm understanding of congressional and administrative processes (e.g., Senate rules and procedure)At least one of the following credentials a plus, though not required: advanced degree in public policy, JD, MBA, or CFA (or equivalent)Knowledge of and interest in the financial marketsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within our team environmentEntrepreneurial spirit and desire to help build and grow WA's policy research businessBenefits20 days of Vacation8 Sick Days1 paid volunteer day10-11 Holidays a yearHealth, Dental, & Vision InsuranceCompany paid Life & Disability InsuranceCompetitive PayAnnual Performance Bonus#J-18808-Ljbffr
