Veterans Benefits ParalegalScroll down to find the complete details of the job offer, including experience required and associated duties and tasks.Location: Racine, WI /u2013 100% Onsite, Full-timeSalary: $50,000 - $70,000 DOEPosition Summary:LHH seeks a dedicated Veterans Benefits Paralegal to join our client's rapidly expanding law firm in Racine, WI. This role will involve working closely with a Partner in the Veterans Benefits Department to provide essential legal support and assist veterans in navigating the complexities of the benefits process.Key Responsibilities: Support busy Partner with administrative duties i.e. calendaring, scheduling, invoicing, reviewing billable hours, expense reporting, event coordinating, general housekeeping, establishing departmental processes, preparing presentations, and making travel arrangements as necessary. Assist veterans in preparing and filing VA disability claims and appeals. Review, organize, and manage veterans' medical records, service documents, and claim files. Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and briefs related to veterans' benefits cases. Conduct legal research on veterans' benefits laws, regulations, and case law. Maintain and update case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines. Communicate with clients, attorneys, and Veterans Affairs (VA) representatives. Assist attorneys in hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits, summarizing medical records, and preparing witness statements. Track and monitor the progress of claims and appeals through the VA system. Ensure confidentiality and security of client records and information.Qualifications: 2+ years of recent experience working in a US law firm as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant. 2+ years of experience in veterans' benefits or disability law is preferred. Strong knowledge of VA claims and appeals processes. Excellent organizational, research, and writing skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with case management software required. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
