Interns are compensated competitively and have the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate class schedules Job SummaryThis internship, based within the Faculty Outreach team in UITS Digital Education Programs and Initiatives (DEPI), will provide hands-on experience producing content for Learning Technologies (LT) communication and outreach vehicles like The Connected Professor. The intern will be involved in working with UITS staff and collaborators to highlight teaching with technology in ways that increase student engagement and student success. In addition to considerable writing opportunities, the intern is welcome to explore other forms of digital storytelling and media creation.Department-Specific ResponsibilitiesDevelops solid working relationships with UITS staff and collaborators Interviews and highlights faculty innovators Composes written and visual content for web-based story features Proposes strategies to increase audiences for LT communication vehiclesAssists in developing marketing materials that enhance LT's visibilityQualificationsEDUCATIONRequiredCurrently enrolled as an Indiana University undergraduate or graduate student with a strong interest in using technology in a teaching and learning contextPreferredCoursework in English, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related fieldSKILLSRequiredExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications for communication and collaboration Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Highly motivated and able to work independentlyWorking Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
