Job Summary The Mold Department Manager plans, directs, coordinates and provides leadership and development for the Molding Department. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing operations for Dartmouth Mold Operations as well as supervision of the Molding Engineering staff and Mold Department Supervisor. This will include resource deployment, standard performance reporting, scheduling work, and driving execution to deliver a world-class customer experience. This individual will be responsible for defining goals, improving processes, managing budgets, directing resources, resolving problems and ensuring manufacturing strategies result in cost effective, on-time delivery of quality products. Role and Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing injection molding/tooling operations to ensure that daily schedule, production and goals are met Provides technical leadership to the department, including recommending and implementing equipment, process and material enhancements. Oversees the design and development of molds, working closely with engineering team to ensure molds are designed and produced to high quality meeting the specifications of the manufacturing process. Manages project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are completed and within allocated budget. Plays a vital role in planning, scheduling and monitoring of projects. Testing and validations for quality before production, ensuring processes are thoroughly tested to meet standards. Responsible for correcting discrepancies and addressing issues. Oversees Mold Department staff, ensures staff is adequately trained and skilled to meet department objectives. Collaborates with cross functional departments to ensure specifications are met in accordance with manufacturing process Direct and coordinate the planning and scheduling of injection molding manufacturing with the Director of Manufacturing to consistently meet expected product delivery schedules and inventory levels. Participate in the planning and evaluation of new business opportunities including assessments of projected growth, revenue and impact of new initiatives. Provide a safe working environment for all manufacturing personnel and ensure timely resolution of any unsafe practices or conditions Maintain positive, high performance environment that fosters extraordinary customer satisfaction, enhanced morale and individual employee development through team building, coaching, training, feedback / reviews and goal setting Compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all documented procedures in the Tegra Medical Quality Management System Additional duties and responsibilities as required. Level of Skill, Education and Experience 5+ years of experience with Injection molding processing preferred Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or plastics engineering preferred Demonstrated leadership skills with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing manager role is preferred Must be highly organized and be comfortable with a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proven problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and analytical skills are required Experience with Six Sigma Green or Black belt, Root Cause Analysis, Apollo, etc. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills along with the ability to handle multiple priorities at any time. Established computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP software (SAP preferred), CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
