OverviewMake sure to apply with all the requested information, as laid out in the job overview below.POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing management, administrative and operational support to the organization by performing a variety of HR duties including but not limited to staffing, benefits, performance management, employee relations, labor relations, leaves of absence, workers compensation, employee safety, training, human resources information systems, employee satisfaction, unemployment insurance and Joint Commission compliance. The Human Resources Manager may also assist with other human resources functions as assigned. The Human Resources Manager contributes to the development and administration of programs related to the above mentioned human resources functions to meet the company's personnel goals and objectives.This position is responsible for ensuring that appropriate, timely, accurate, understandable and professional information and service is provided to all customers of the Human Resources Department. Work productivity and quality is of the highest level and fully responsive to the needs of the department, hospital and its customers.This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support San Gabriel Valley Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCEBachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field.Minimum 1 year Human Resources supervisory experience.Human Resources supervisory experience in an acute healthcare setting with a unionized workforce a plus.Requires basic computer skills, excellent organizational & prioritization skills.Very good English oral and written communications skills.Proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.Bilingual (English/Spanish/Vietnamese/Chinese) preferred.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSProfessional Human Resources Designation (SHRM-HRCI) preferred.QualificationsTASKS/DUTIESOversees employee terminations by issuing all applicable separation forms and documents and by conducting exit interviews.Processes employee payroll requests and performance evaluations in HRIS.Reviews and addresses employee relations issues of non-management staff.Conducts employee investigations.Supports management with employee counseling.Reviews Incident Management Portal (IMP) and responds to inquiries.Assists with labor relations including responses to union grievances.Coordinates Employee Safety Committee and Accident Prevention Team meetings and agenda.Provides accurate report of injuries, coordinates modified work program, and cooperatively works with Corporate WC Generalist on litigated cases.Coordinates with appropriate personnel the completion of ergonomic assessments to enhance employee safety.Assists with supervision of HR staff including but not limited to compliance with work schedules and other organizational policies and expectations.Provides feedback to director on staff's performance.Provides support to non-exempt HR staff as needed for the successful completion of duties.Oversees the human resources department in the absence of HR Director.Performs other duties that are consistent with meeting departmental and organizational goals and objectives.JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKINGHas the ability to recognize and deal with the correct sequence of priorities.Refers problems better handled by the Director to the Director.RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERSInteracts with colleagues and other employees with ease and common courtesy.Presents a positive image of the hospital to employees, visitors, physicians and members of the public.Handles telephone information with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality.Maintains a good rapport with outside companies/vendors.PLANNING AND TIME UTILIZATIONOrganizes self and priorities such that tasks are completed within the designated timeframes.INITIATIVEVolunteers to assist colleagues as time permits.Demonstrates a willingness to learn, accepts new responsibilities with enthusiasm.Performs duties and responsibilities with minimal guidance from the Director.Assumes personal responsibility for on-going education and professional development.ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITYDoes not abuse or take advantage of sick days or personal time off.When requested, strives to adjust personal schedule to complete workload if necessary.Reports to work on time.Responds willingly and positively when directed to perform a duty.OTHER BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONSAlways observes all hospital policies, particularly human resources P&Ps.Takes responsibility for own behaviors, responds positively to inquiries, approaches change as opportunities.Refrains from criticizing coworkers and from activities that undermine teamwork.Maintains a neat, professional appearance at all times.Attends required in-service/orientation education programs and/or hospital meetings.#J-18808-Ljbffr
