ABOUT CANCER PATHWAYS:Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.Cancer Pathways (formerly Gilda's Club Seattle) is a non-profit cancer organization with a wide variety of cancer-related education and support programs. The organization has been serving the greater Seattle area and Washington state since 2001. We are looking to hire a full-time Program Director in Seattle. The position requires a master's degree or higher in public health, education, social work, or another related field; a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in program development and a strong interest in and aptitude in strategic communications.Cancer Pathways is a non-profit providing work that is important, needed, and impactful. We deliver unique and creative programming and are looking for a leader who cares about our mission and is eager to drive us to further success. The position is currently a hybrid office located in Seattle with 3 days per week in the office in Capitol Hill.JOB SUMMARY:The Program Director is responsible for the administration, communications, implementation and management of all aspects of Cancer Pathways' programs. They oversee program design, development, metrics, outcomes, and communications. The Program Director assists in grant writing, reporting, and communications revolving around program activities. This is a leadership role that supervises and mentors program staff and maintains the highest level of quality in the delivery of all services and works to develop relationships with external stakeholders. The Program Director is a member of the executive team and reports to the CEO.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Design and Implementation:With the CEO, lead staff in developing the vision for program services and setting the scope of programs.Lead legislative initiatives, help develop cancer-related bills, and work with legislators and the state budget office.Work with program managers to set deadlines, research, plan, and implement programs and build new initiatives to meet these goals.Collaborate with the Director of Social Work to evaluate programmatic needs for support services for those impacted by cancer.Stay informed about trends and best practices in the nonprofit sector, applying knowledge to enhance our programs and operations.Partner with the CEO and CFO in developing and managing the program budget.Oversee the grant writer and assist in identifying prospective grants, consistent language for programs, impact reports, and grant follow-up.Oversee program activities and ensure all activities support the mission and meet the standards of Cancer Pathways.Raise awareness about Cancer Pathways' programs through relationships and partnerships with other services, nonprofits, and stakeholders.Program Staff Management and Development:Supervise program staff and identify areas of need for volunteers and interns.Responsible for the hiring, orientation, and ongoing supervision of program managers; conduct annual performance reviews with constructive feedback and support given throughout the year.Provide positive leadership and encourage a collaborative work environment both internally with staff and with external stakeholders who match our mission.Work closely with the CEO to provide program summaries and key metrics to the Board of Directors.Work with the communications manager to implement best practices in elevating Cancer Pathways' programs.REQUIREMENTS:Preferred PhD or master's degree in the health arena, LCSW or MPH welcome.Minimum 5 years' experience with 3+ years in project/program management.
