Is this the next step in your career Find out if you are the right candidate by reading through the complete overview below.SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Safety Lead provides knowledge and technical assistance to NEMS for the implementation of all safety programs that meets or exceeds all current standards. They will represent the company in certain safety matters pertaining to internal and external activities. The Safety Lead will review, interpret and provide assistance on safety regulations and standards. This person will assist in conducting project audits and safety addition, this role will supervise the Security team. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Manages day-to-day Security team scheduling and supervision.Administers and oversees the vaccine monitoring program.Maintains current knowledge of local, state, federal, OSHA, NIMS, and other emergency related regulations; understand best practices and make recommendations to Safety Supervisor about safety and emergency mitigation, preparedness/training, response, and recovery activities.Assist in conducting table top exercises, small group trainings, and large group trainings on emergency protocols, Incident Command System and safety measures.Attends community meetings and participates in other external emergency planning groups, task forces, and committees as needed.Partners with clinical department on hazardous material training, performs quarterly inspections and communicate on recommended repairsMeets with government related auditors and inspectors for clinic hazards and Safety such as DPH and SF Environment related officialsAdministrators Stericycle website and quarterly OSHA Mock Audits at sitesStays up to date on safety protocols for all departments across NEMSCoordinates and carry out ergonomic assessments.Within one year, must be able to: (1) obtain on-line certification in ergonomic assessments; (2) complete OSHA-related compliance training; and (3) obtain Incident Command System (ICS) certification.Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS:Completion of a Bachelors degree in Health Science, Environmental Science or related field preferred1+ year supervisory experience preferredKnowledge of and experience with emergency/safety programs (management concepts, terminology, and basic procedures)Certification in ergonomic assessment preferredKnowledge of HAM radio and emergency communication systems preferredMust have strong public speaking and training development skillsMust have strong verbal and written communication skillsMust be proficient in computer usageProficient in Microsoft Office SuitePossession of a current and valid drivers license LANGUAGE:Must be able to fluently read, write and speak EnglishThe ability to speak a second language is an assetThe ability to speak Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) highly preferred STATUS:This is an FLSA non-exempt position.This is not an OSHA high-risk position.This is a Full Time position.NEMS is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer welcoming diversity in our workforce.
