A public institution with approximately 18,000 students, UNCW offers a full range of baccalaureate- and graduate-level programs, as well as doctoral degrees in areas of expertise that serve state needs.UNCW is currently seeking three individuals to serve as Associate Directors of Institutional Assessment within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to provide expertise and support for assessment and accreditation for one or more designated academic colleges. These positions report to the Director for Institutional Effectiveness and collaborate with administrators, faculty, and staff.The Associate Director for Institutional Assessment plans and leads implementation of assessment activities, trainings, conducts analyses, and reports findings to support the ongoing improvement of student learning, program effectiveness, and ensure accreditation compliance standards are met.Key Responsibilities:Consultation and Professional Development: Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to utilize assessment and evaluation activities to foster a climate of continuous improvement.Accreditation Compliance: Ensures assessment activities support accreditation standards and aligns evidence with requirements set by accrediting bodies (such as SACSCOC).Data Collection and Reporting: Develops college and school-level assessment reports and reviews program coordinator's assessment reports.Improvement Strategies: Supports faculty in developing and implementing strategies to enhance student learning and program effectiveness.Minimum Requirements:Master's degree in education, evaluation, social science, statistics, or related disciplines.Knowledge of postsecondary curriculum design, curriculum mapping, and outcomes assessment.Demonstrated competence with assessment of student learning outcomes, administrative unit assessment, and academic program review.Strong analytical and technical writing skills.Demonstrated competence with quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods and practices in higher education.Demonstrated project management skills.Experience developing and administering survey instruments.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree beyond the master's level.5+ years of coordinating assessment within a university or college setting.Experience with institutional and specialized accreditation processes within higher education.Advanced knowledge and skills in using statistical packages (such as SPSS, R, SAS).Employees of UNCW are provided a comprehensive benefits package as well as programs, resources, policies, and practices that support a work/life balance.
