A description of the business units can be found at: Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas: Independent Office of Appeals Case and Operations Support Specialized Exam Prog and Ref Collection Appeals Examination Appeals The following are the duties of this position at the full working level: Holds conferences and negotiates issues with taxpayers/representative to resolve tax disputes in a fair and impartial manner. Taxpayers are often officers of publicly traded companies and representatives are typically from the most prestigious national law and accounting firms. Advises and coaches team members regarding their team assignments. Provides appropriate and substantive feedback on team assignments to the team member and his/her immediate manager. Communicates and fosters dialogue with peers, customers, and partners. Leads several teams that work cases and coaches individual employees in the accomplishment of team objectives and effective problem solving. Requirements Conditions of Employment: Telework Eligible Positions: Telework eligible positions do not guarantee telework. Employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check). Employment of any candidate selected for this position may be conditional on classification and/or audit of federal tax returns (may include up to 2 years of returns). Qualifications Federal experience is not required. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. OR One year of graduate education in a related field of study. OR Superior Academic Achievement may be met by having a Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. OR Combination of qualifying graduate education and experience equal to that described above. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12: One (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13: One (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-14: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-15: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Education For positions with an education requirement, submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent. Additional Information A 1-year probationary period is required.
