As the largest single operator of quality nursing homes in Iowa, Care Initiatives has over forty (40) skilled nursing communities, seven (7) hospice offices (and growing!), plus our own internal staffing agency. We are committed to providing exceptional care and support at every stage of the healthcare journey.The Director of Talent Management and Development will develop a comprehensive and integrated talent management and organizational development strategy to align with Care Initiatives mission, vision, and goals. As a key leader on the human resources team, this role will serve as a strategic partner to enhance and develop programs designed to attract, develop, and retain the best talent across the organization.What you'd do as the Director of Talent Management and Development at Care Initiatives:Build the human potential of the organization through the ownership of leadership development initiatives at all levels to support leader effectiveness in attracting, developing, and retaining talent, to include leading a comprehensive onboarding/orientation program, leadership and team member development programs.Develop a system-wide lens for the development of targeted development initiatives for specific populations which are critical to the success of the overall strategy (e.g., nursing, CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) mentor program, licensed nurse mentor program, creating career ladders, talent reviews/succession planning and development).Develop and consistently improve on the system's team member engagement surveys, pulse surveys, listening and engagement initiatives, including leadership training and toolkits.Develop and lead a system-wide, consistent goal setting and performance management initiative which drives individual and organizational performance and recognizes the value of performance differentiation.Enhance and leverage the organization's leadership competencies, develop a talent review process which provides visibility of leadership pipelines or gaps, and provides clarity on the depth and breadth of internal talent and skills across the organization.Build a process for succession planning across the system and oversee the process for development planning to ensure readiness for effective, reliable succession planning.Develop a standard definition of "˜high potential' for the system and build initiatives which allow for accelerated development and leadership experiences for high potential talent.Oversee learning management initiatives and priorities. Ensure effective operations and optimizing of the learning management system capabilities (Relias).Partner with operations leadership and human resource directors on the effective delivery of talent management and development initiatives, soliciting feedback on the effectiveness of current initiatives and recommend priorities for the future.Develop goals and department metrics and track performance against key indicators, assess team performance, and develop and implement process improvements or enhancements.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues with tact and confidentiality and maintain confidentiality on a range of people initiatives and topics (e.g., succession planning).Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment where team members of all backgrounds feel included, and their contributions are valued.What it takes to become the Director of Talent Management and Development with Care Initiatives:Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration or combination of education and relevant experience is required.Master's degree is highly preferred.SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly preferred.Why choose Care Initiatives?
