As a Field Marketing Coordinator, your job is to fuel our fans' passion and excitement for Portillo's, while attracting new guests and potential team members through FUN marketing & recruiting activities. You will join a small, scrappy, enthusiastic Field Marketing team where you'll actively generate brand awareness and trial through hands-on, grassroots marketing tactics, tasting events, and community engagement. As the local market expert, you will partner with area market managers, local restaurants, and the recruiting team to build sales and promote our employment opportunities. Your duties will also include facilitating the needs of existing area partnerships to ensure we're hitting key performance indicators and seeking and vetting leads for new partnership opportunities. You will work with our restaurants in the Indiana and Michigan Markets. Regular travel to your restaurants is required, approximately once per month for Indiana and every other month for Michigan locations. Additionally, quarterly visits to the Restaurant Support Center in Oakbrook, IL are required. You're a different kind of marketer. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various departments and teams to support recruiting and local restaurant sales goals. Assist restaurant managers and operations teams to ensure marketing campaigns align with store needs and customer demands. In-Restaurant Merchandising: Ensure all in-restaurant marketing materials are up-to-date and adequately displayed to maintain brand consistency and impact. Market Research: Conduct local market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth and promotional initiatives. Budget Management & Campaign Reporting: Assist in developing and tracking local marketing budgets and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns to ensure a strong return on investment. Energy: We move with urgency and passion while maintaining attention to detail. Local Store Marketing: Plan and execute local store marketing campaigns to drive sales and community engagement. Event Coordination: Organize and manage on-site and off-site events, such as restaurant openings, promotional events, and community outreach programs. Community Engagement: Actively participate in local community events to attract new guests and potential team members, fostering meaningful connections with the community. Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, influencers, and community organizations for co-promotion opportunities. Social Media & Content Creation Support: Assist the Digital Marketing Manager with creating localized social media campaigns and managing engagement. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to the Field Marketing Manager (North). They develop and coordinate local restaurant marketing tactics to build sales and a recruitment pipeline in the assigned territory. The position has no direct reports but may occasionally coordinate and hire subcontracted workers for special occasions and events. The Field Marketing Coordinator regularly interacts with our Guests, Partners, Operations (VP Ops, MM, GM, etc.), Marketing, HR & Recruiting, Legal, and Accounting/Finance Teams. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Educational Level/Certifications College Associate's Degree or higher. Degree or Certification in marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred. Serve Safe Food Handlers certification preferred. Work Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to implement change in a dynamic environment. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to coach and develop effective marketing strategies. Experience delivering presentations to small and medium-sized groups. Experience with multi-unit operations (e.g., retail, hospitality, restaurant) preferred. Familiarity with multi-state employer environments preferred. Experience with Asana and Salesforce is a plus. Thrives in a hybrid or remote working environment. Multilingual skills are a plus. Ensures accountability across all field marketing activities, taking responsibility for outcomes. Travel Requirement Frequent travel [local & long distance driving] is required 90%. Occasional domestic travel [flying] is required 10%. Overnight trips are a common occurrence and required. Weekly visits to local restaurants and for area canvass.
