About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a payroll specialist to join our Payroll Operational Tax group.Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.In this role, you will:Follows all applicable laws, regulations, and company practices and policies in daily work.Maintains current knowledge of laws, regulations, and company practices and policies related to payroll matters, along with an understanding of historical applications in the business.Makes recommendations for interpretation of laws and regulations and improvement of processes within area(s) of payroll expertise.Demonstrates deep knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end payroll process.Serves as an internal subject matter expert on payroll taxation activities and strategies with a lens to both compliance and business performance optimization.Demonstrates strong working knowledge of key HR Operations applications specifically, Workday and ServiceNow.Coaches' others on payroll best practices, ensuring compliance and effective use of practices.Trains junior team members on payroll-related applications, such as writing macros or excel functions.Establishes clear, well-defined processes necessary to achieve the desired outcomes.Delineates complex processes into more simple tasks and functions.Organizes and manages daily cases activity and day-to-day operations for the Workday payroll taxes.Creates a workflow that effectively coordinates and integrates tasks and functions.Evaluates efficiency and effectiveness of current-state resource utilization and results accomplishments.Identifies, and takes advantage of, opportunities to accomplish multiple objectives and obtain synergies through process development and management.Required Qualifications:2+ years of Accounting, Payroll, Payroll Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:Experience with payroll taxes (including W-2, Tax calculations, multi-state payroll tax)Experience and understanding on federal, local and state tax regulationsExperience within Workday or ServiceNowAdvanced experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)Experience in PayrollExcellent customer service skillsStrong skills in analytics and high attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.Job Expectations:Hybrid model: minimum 3 days in office and 2 days remoteOffice Locations: Minneapolis, MN; West Des Moines, IA; Phoenix, AZ; Chandler, AZ; Charlotte, NC; San Antonio and Dallas, TXPay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
