Creative Financial Partner has partnered with a global manufacturing company based out of Portsmouth, NH to identify a Tax Director to join their team. Our client is relocating their corporate headquarters to Portsmouth and will be seeking an individual who can rebuild the tax function from the ground up. Our client will consider out-of-state applicants looking to relocate and will assist in the cost of relocation. Highlights of the Tax Director opportunity: The Company: Global publicly traded manufacturing company with over $1B in revenue specializing in advanced materials and composites manufacturing. They serve aerospace, paper manufacturing, and industrial processing. The Growth: Founded over 100 years ago, our client is the industry leader in their niche. Their Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA have increased year-over-year for the past 3 years. The Position: The Tax Director will oversee the company's global tax function, including compliance, reporting, strategy, M&A, provisions, financial disclosures, and ad-hoc tax initiatives. The Opportunity: The Tax Director will shape and structure a global tax function while establishing a long-term strategic vision for the team. The Tax Director's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collaborate with leadership to build and refine tax processes. Lead quarterly and annual tax provisions and prepare income tax footnotes per US GAAP. Oversee tax-related internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404. Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities, including transfer pricing policies. Advise on tax implications of M&A activities and major transactions. Partner with business, legal, and treasury teams on tax considerations for new initiatives. Support financial planning by contributing to the annual budget and forecasts. Monitor tax law changes and assess their impact on the company. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. Qualifications: CPA with a bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, or a related field. 10+ years of experience, ideally in a Big Four public accounting firm and a multinational public company's global tax department. Expertise in U.S. GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740) and SOX 404 compliance for multinational corporations. Extensive experience with U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance in a global structure, including return reviews, audit defense, planning, and risk mitigation. Proven leadership in managing teams, including hiring, performance management, and strategic decision-making. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-tax stakeholders. Innovative problem-solver with a track record of streamlining processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
