We've been exclusively retained by a Boston-based Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) to identify a VP of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to join their team. Key Responsibilities: Lead all aspects of the company's SEC reporting process, including 10-K, 10-Q filings, supporting schedules, earnings releases, and quarter-end workpapers. Ensure SOX compliance and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting. Research, document, and implement technical accounting standards, ensuring adherence to GAAP and SEC regulations. Oversee purchase price allocations, quarterly performance stock unit and warrant valuations, and equity method investment calculations. Conduct EPS calculations and quarterly assessments for impairment indicators. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support financial reporting and compliance processes. Potential to mentor and oversee staff, contributing to team development and succession planning. What We're Looking For: ✔ CPA Required - Undergraduate degree in Accounting (Master's preferred but not required).✔ 7+ years of experience in: Big 4 or National CPA firm with public clients (ideally Real Estate industry), OR A mix of public accounting and industry experience.✔ SEC reporting & SOX expertise - Either from public accounting or in a currentrecent role.✔ REIT experience highly preferred - Understanding of real estate accounting complexities is a plus.
