What you will doThe Controller is responsible for the following areas: General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Fixed Assets, Taxes, Travel and Expenses, Payroll and Banks. Ensure accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysis of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This individual will be responsible to lead the accounting team and achieve timely and accurate completion of closing activities for all areas of responsibilities. Performs accounting tasks requiring an experienced, professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. This position will also be responsible for reviewsupervision and completion of monthly, quarterly and annual close and all encompassed within that process (i.e. reconciliations, reporting, etc.)What success looks likeDirect and complete the month end close activities, including generation, posting and review of journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts and generating monthly financial statements (both GAAP and non-GAAP for internal reporting).Lead General Ledger accounting functions. Develop closing procedures, establish tasks & timetables for accurate and complete journal entry creation and postings. Reviews monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry.Ensures that balance sheet is accurately stated and reconciled in a monthly basis, including the respective support schedules. Ensures that P&L expenses are accurately captured in the respective cost centers were applicable.Oversees the Accounts Receivable functions. Coordinate billings, collection and cash accounting operations.Oversees the general activities of the Accounts Payable cycle. Manage high volume data entry of invoices and response to inquiries and completes timely weekly ACHWire, check payments to vendors.Manages Fixed Assets, tracks existing fixed assets, records depreciation, and accounts for the acquisition and disposition of fixed assets. Reconciles the fixed asset module to the general ledger on a monthly basis.Coordinate & manage payroll function. Calculates and upload data to outside service provider.Oversees the Travel and Expenses activities. Ensures timely approval and employee expense reimbursement and proper accounting.Detects and evaluates risks as well as opportunities for improvement regarding all areas of responsibility. Researches ways of streamlining and standardizing processes to support the Accounting functions.Supervising accounting & AP staff, including external resourcescontractors.What you bringBig 4 Public Accounting (minimum of 5 years)5-10+ years of progressive accounting and controlling experience4+ years of supervisory experienceKnowledge of IAS, US GAAP, IFRSAudit, SOX experience is a mustExperience in publicly owned company is requiredIndustry experience is a plusExperience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plusDetail-oriented with a high level of organizationExcellent analytical and system skillsTechnical acumen and strong critical thinkingUnderstands how to implement a strong control environmentAbility to self-manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong investigative, analytical, and problem solving skillsExcellent accounting skills and a professional work ethicAbility to work cross functionally and collaborativelyStrong accounting research experience
