We are partnered with a leading financial services company specializing in high-quality business lending. They are seeking a Senior Underwriter to evaluate and approve transactions for established businesses. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, experience underwriting SMB loans, and experience with direct borrower interaction to assess risk in order to structure deals effectively.Three Awesome Reasons to Work Here:Impactful Work Make a significant impact on businesses of all sizes by helping them navigate financial challenges and achieve their growth potential.Strong Earning Potential Competitive base salary ($125K $160K) plus performance-based bonuses up to 1X salary (OTE $200K $300K).Entrepreneurial & Growth-Oriented Work alongside pricers, portfolio managers, and sales teams to optimize deals and improve lending strategies.What You'll Be Doing:Underwriting & Risk Assessment Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow reports, and bank statements to assess business creditworthiness.Merchant Interviews Conduct direct borrower interviews to validate financials, understand business operations, and assess risk factors.Loan Structuring Work with internal teams to structure financing solutions that align with risk tolerance, borrower needs, and company credit policies.Collaboration with Pricers & Portfolio Managers Partner with pricers to determine appropriate loan pricing and portfolio managers to track deal performance.Due Diligence & Compliance Ensure all underwriting decisions align with internal policies and industry regulations.Process Improvement Contribute to refining underwriting frameworks and optimizing risk evaluation methodologies.What You Bring:3+ years of experience in business lending, commercial underwriting, SBA loans, or merchant cash advances.Expertise in higher-dollar transactions ($100K to $500K+).Strong financial analysis skills, including cash flow projections, financial ratio analysis, and risk modeling.Experience conducting merchant interviews to verify financials and assess risk factors.Ability to balance risk assessment with deal-making, ensuring strong underwriting decisions while maintaining efficiency.Proficiency in underwriting software, financial modeling tools, and CRM platforms.What's In It for You:Competitive Salary $125, 000 $160, 000 base + performance-based bonuses.High Earning Potential Up to 1X base salary in performance bonuses ( OTE $200K $300K).Career Growth Opportunities in underwriting leadership, risk management, portfolio strategy, and more.
