A leading Italian company specializing in frozen food is seeking a proactive and experienced Industrial Engineer to lead the setup of a new manufacturing facility in New Jersey. Availability to contractors and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks are essential. This role presents a unique opportunity to establish a new production facility from inception.Key Responsibilities:Lead Facility Setup: Oversee the entire setup and operational planning for the new production plant, ensuring all aspects are meticulously managed.Design and Optimization: Develop and refine the layout and production flow for frozen food manufacturing lines to maximize efficiency.Equipment Selection: Identify, select, and validate the necessary equipment, machinery, and automation systems to ensure high-efficiency pliance Assurance: Ensure the facility meets all food safety standards, including FDA, USDA, and FSMA regulations.Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, R&D, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of processes.Production Trials: Oversee initial production trials, addressing any issues that arise to ensure smooth operations.Supply Chain Optimization: Streamline logistics for raw materials and packaging to support efficient production.Technical Guidance: Provide expert technical support during the commissioning, testing, and ramp-up phases of the factory.Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related dustry Experience: Over 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, with a strong focus on desserts, ice creams, frozen food, and baked goods.Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in factory setup, production line installation, and process design.Specialized Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of thermal processing, freezing technologies, and ingredient handling.Automation Familiarity: Experience with automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing systems.Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and US food regulatory standards.Project Management: Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.Mobility: Willingness to relocate or travel to New Jersey for the duration of the project.Preferred ExperiencePlant Setup: Previous experience in setting up greenfield or brownfield plants.Sustainability Initiatives: Expertise in energy efficiency and sustainability practices.Cultural Knowledge: Understanding of Italian food production standards is a plus.
