Their decades of comprehensive experience and success operating on -time and on -budget are unparalleled.We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven IMPORT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to spearhead the growth of our U.S. import business within the transportation and logistics sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, client relationship management, and market expansion, with a deep understanding of the U.S. import market, supply chain logistics, and transportation services. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth by delivering tailored transportation solutions to importers across industries.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMarket Expansion: Identify and target potential clients (importers, manufacturers, distributors)to expand the company's U.S. import transportation services.Lead Generation: Proactively research, prospect, and qualify leads through networking , cold outreach, industry events, and digital channels.Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including importers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and supply chain decision-makers.Solution Development: Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to design competitive, customized transportation solutions that meet client needs (e.g., ocean freight, trucking, drayage, warehousing).Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and increase market share in the U.S. import sectorIndustry Knowledge: Stay informed on U.S. import regulations, tariffs, trade policies, and market trends to position the company as a trusted partner.Partnerships: Establish and nurture relationships with port authorities, shipping lines, and other logistics providers to enhance service offeringsReporting & Forecasting: Track sales performance, provide regular updates on pipeline activity, and forecast revenue growth using CRM toolsBrand Representation: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote services and build brand awarenessQualificationsExperience: Minimum of 3-5 years in business development, sales, or account management within transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding, with a focus on U.S. imports, Experience working with international shipping lines or port operations, Familiarity with U.S. Customs Service regulations and compliance requirement, Existing client portfolio or relationships in key import markets (e.g., manufacturing, retail, automotive)Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the U.S. import process, including customs clearance, freight forwarding, and intermodal transportation (ocean, rail, truck). Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities, Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite. Network: Established connections within the importexport or logistics industry are a plus. Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Attributes: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
