Associate, Specialty FinanceOverview of the OpportunityOur client is a premier global investment firm managing approximately $50 billion in assets. Their Credit Funds business includes a dedicated Asset-Based Credit Group, which is seeking an Associate to join its New York team.This is a dynamic, high-impact role offering full transaction lifecycle exposure-candidates will be involved from initial deal review to structuring and execution. The position is highly data-driven, requiring sophisticated financial modeling in Excel, and provides significant interaction with both internal teams and external clients.Why This Role?Broad Market Exposure: Work across consumer and small business finance, covering sectors like auto loans, credit cards, BNPL, equipment leasing, and more.Deep Transaction Involvement: No sourcing required, but direct engagement in diligence, structuring, and execution.High-Impact Analytics: Develop custom financial models to assess asset performance, risk, and returns.Global Collaboration: Join a team with strong NYC & London presence, offering cross-border deal pelling Compensation: Base salary of $145K - $155K with total comp potential reaching $300K.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct first-level reviews of new investment opportunities and determine viability for further analysis.Perform asset performance analysis, structuring, and sophisticated financial modeling.Access data rooms, analyze company and asset-level data, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.Develop structured investment proposals, assess potential returns, and support strategic decision-making.Engage in due diligence, legal documentation review, and ongoing portfolio management.Ideal Candidate Profile2-4 years of experience in investment banking, asset-based finance, or ABS portfolio management.Strong quantitative skills with expertise in Excel-based financial modeling.Backgrounds from both sell-side and buy-side are welcome.Exceptional interpersonal skills-ability to interact with clients and work effectively within a highly collaborative team.Candidates with asset-backed finance (ABF) or residential asset experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
