The RoleWe are seeking a Controller & FP&A Lead to oversee financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role ensures accurate financial records across different markets while also driving financial forecasting, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making to support the company's growth.This position is based in New York, NY, and requires a strong blend of accounting, finance, and analytical skills to manage multinational financial operations. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Managementâ— Maintain precise financial records and accounting for all company transactions.â— Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and payment of invoices.â— Oversee the month-end close process, including general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare financial statements and reports.â— Conduct monthly fluctuation analysis, highlighting insights and variances.â— Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including sales tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions.â— Coordinate with external auditors and tax firms, providing necessary information for audits and tax return preparation.â— Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.â— Set up and manage systems for handling multinational accounts, including B2B and DTC transactions.â— Validate all foreign currency revaluations and translations, determining the appropriate currency for recording and reporting transactions.â— Maintain cash flow forecasts and manage any related credit obligations.â— Hire, manage, and direct the work of others as needed as the business grows.FP&A & Strategic Financeâ— Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support business growth and decision-making.â— Develop and maintain key financial KPIs to track business performance and drive insights.â— Partner with leadership on profitability analysis, cost management, and margin optimization.â— Conduct scenario analysis to support strategic business decisions (e.g., pricing, promotions, and investments).â— Work closely with sales and marketing teams to analyze customer acquisition costs (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and ROI on marketing spend.â— Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reductions. Qualificationsâ— 10+ years Proven experience as a Controller with FP&A experience, preferably in a multinational or consumer goods company.â— Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance.â— Experience with NetSuite preferred (or other major ERP systems).â— Experience handling multi-currency transactions and FX-related accounting.â— Familiarity with hedging FX transactions and hedge accounting is a plus.â— Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills; proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.â— Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial KPIs to support business strategy.â— Effective communicator who can translate financial data into actionable insights.â— Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA is a plus.
