Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician (PM&R) Physiatrist Valley Stream NY (Long Island) Full time or Part time We are looking for a dynamic, motivated PM&R /Physiatrist to join our practices in New York, in Bellerose, Queens and Valley Stream. We are flexible in our need and the incoming physician has the potential to work either full or part time. Ideally the incoming physician has vast knowledge in musculoskeletal conditions, has exceptional attention to detail, can communicate and empathize with patients, and is organized, personable and compassionate. We are looking for someone who can treat the patient from start to finish, handling every aspect of patient care. Our offices are committed to exceptional patient care. We provide a broad range of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to our patients including: Objective and Definitive Medical Evaluations Therapeutic Modalities (Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound, Paraffin Therapy) Heat/Cold Therapy Exercise Rehabilitation (Utilizing Aerobic and Weight/Strength Conditioning Exercises) Pain Management Electrodiagnostic Studies (EMG/NCV Studies). Responsibilities: Performing initial evaluations to determine a patient's need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process, Examining patients that may need to undergo physical therapy Diagnosing pain as a result of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients. Recommending and performing various medical procedures, such as trigger point injections, soft tissue, and joint injections to treat pain and improve physical functioning. Leading a team of medical professionals, including physical therapists, to optimize patient care. Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary. Performs or monitors the performance of electrodiagnostic testing (EMG - NCV). Working with patients on determining pain management strategies and Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes. Orders clinically appropriate testing such as X-rays, Cat Scans Ultrasounds and MRIs. Recommends consultation with orthopedists, neurologist, psychologists, spine specialists and pain management. Conducting periodic re-evaluations of patients to determine progress and for change or discontinuance of treatment. Prescribes appropriate orthotic devices as clinically indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices. Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients' progress. Documents ranges of motion with a handheld goniometer. Requirements: MD/DO licensed in NY Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board certification or board eligibility in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehab (PM&R) American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) Schedule: Full time or Part time Salary: $250k per year (Depending on experience and training) Benefits: Productivity Bonus- quarterly based on RVU productivity Health Insurance Retirement plan CME and license fees reimbursement PTO/Paid Holidays 100% outpatient - No call We are looking for a Physician to provide direct patient care within our medical office and can effectively communicate with patients, who enjoys working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
