MEP Assistant Project ManagerA top-tier general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to join their team. This role provides the opportunity to work on complex, impactful projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The MEP Assistant Project Manager will assist in all aspects of the project, supporting the Project Manager to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met from start to finish. If you thrive in a dynamic setting and enjoy making a significant contribution to the success of major projects, this opportunity is for you.Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other team members to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely progress and effective communication with all stakeholders.Assist in the management of MEP-specific elements, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.Facilitate and attend pre-installation meetings, ensuring that all MEP components are prepared for installation as per project specifications.Manage and expedite the flow of information, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders, and material deliveries.Oversee the review of shop drawings and submittals for compliance with contract documents, field conditions, and owner requirements.Support the project team by ensuring proper distribution of contract drawings, specifications, and sketches to relevant parties.Assist in the procurement and coordination of materials and services to meet project deadlines.Track and control labor and material costs, ensuring the project stays within budget.Participate in project closeout activities, including punch lists and documentation of project completion.Maintain regular communication with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure all MEP work progresses smoothly and on time.Assist in the preparation of project-related documents such as contracts, permits, and RFIs.Support the Project Manager with client communications, resolving any issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.2 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on MEP trades.Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction methods.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Prolog, and Primavera preferred.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Self-motivated with a commitment to professional development and quality pensation and Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on high-impact projects with a supportive and collaborative team.Professional growth and advancement opportunities within the company.Work-life balance and a positive company culture.If you are interested in learning more about this position, please apply today or email your resume directly to or contact me directly at 615.439.2866 - All inquires are strictly confidential.MEP Plumbing Commercial Mechanical Subcontractor Commercial MEPAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
