The Occupational Therapist Assistant / Occupational Therapy Assistant / COTA works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist Assistant / Occupational Therapy Assistant / COTA will aid in the provision of rehabilitative services for people suffering from physical, emotional, mental or developmental impairments. Requirements include: Bachelors degree or higher in occupational therapy or a closely related field of study. Licensed currently, or in the process of obtaining a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) credential. A valid CA state drivers license. Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism related disabilities and emotional disturbance. Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis (ABA) preferred. Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals and next steps. Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail. Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability. Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
