Gpac is working with a family-owned food processor that is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent for one of their Northcentral Iowa facilities. If you're looking for a company that provides a family-oriented culture and operates with integrity, innovation, and quality, this could be the right fit for you!Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reduce downtime, increase efficiencies and direct all aspects of department operation including repairs and maintenance. Initiates, implements and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the protein industry, with an emphasis on planning, scheduling, and preventive and predictive maintenance. Organizes and works toward accomplishing objectives regarding production, technology, and resource needs.Plans and directs the installation, testing, operation maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment. Supervises work through site inspection, review of reports and communication with vendors. Determines strategies to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flow and production lines running at maximum capacity.Oversees the use of inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment. Manages rendering, refrigeration, and boiler operations and personnel. Assists in establishing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders to be procured for parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.Manages rendering, refrigeration, and boiler operations and personnel. Assists in creating a decision-making procedure that allows for selection of suppliers for use as vendors for maintenance goods.Maintains operating and training program for the maintenance department in conjunction with the Plant Engineer and Safety Director.Ensures all maintenance techniciansstaff are trained on the most updated version of operating procedures. Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constant to minimize unplanned downtime and anticipate problems to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Establish and maintain Maintenance KPIs such as asset utilization, maintenance cost PM compliance, and schedule compliance. Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies while directing the safety program for the maintenance department to include active participation in Process Safety Management, Risk Management Programs and review of other departmental safety terviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.Education andor Experience:Bachelor degree or knowledgerelevant experience equivalent to such degree preferredMust have experience in Industrial maintenance in a food manufacturing facility.Must have working knowledge of refrigeration Minimum of 5 years' experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.SkillsKnowledge:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventivepredictive maintenance, TPM, etc.Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Word Processing software.High level of organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning skills. Possesses advanced technical skills in the mechanical electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) and is able to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment.Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventivepredictive maintenance, TPM, etc. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.For additional information on this opportunity, please contact Ashley Olson directly at 515-461-2013.
