Become an expert on all safety, quality, and production requirements for standardized production. Train and coordinate activities for Operators and Senior Operators. Monitor and report on various production and quality metrics for multiple lines of production. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment that supports the LH Way. Operate assigned equipment to produce high quality lithium-ion batteries. Responsibilities: • Organize and coordinate operator work assignments across multiple lines, scheduling around breaks, vacations, changeovers and absenteeism • Assist operators and monitor lines to keep them running smoothly by anticipating supply needs • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe working environment • Set and reach daily production goals with the Production Supervisor • Ensure production metrics are met across multiple lines (KPI's, SQCDME) • Ensure dailyweekly physical inventory count activities are completed by Operators consistently and accurately • Create shift production reports on machine downtime, safety, quality, thrown away material, on-hold processes, and buffer numbers, escalating issues when appropriate • Ensure quality is delivered through continuous monitoring of the line and occasional random checks for product defects • Resolve people conflicts and escalate to the Production Supervisor as appropriate • Ensure operator training is consistently and effectively taking place, gauge operator skills and capabilities, ensure training and line assignments align accordingly, and create and review instruction manuals • Conduct quarterly operator evaluations to track growth and development • Provide a line of communication between the Production Supervisor and the line workers • Inspect materials and machines to identify maintenance needs and create daily maintenance check sheets • Troubleshoot and repair production machines, report all downtime issues, and escalate maintenance issues as appropriate • Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with safety and environmental laws, regulations, or policies • Implement operational and emergency procedures • Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs • Follow ESHD existing cleaning SOP's during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine andor surrounding work area • Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas • Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards: 1. Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain 2. Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container • Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High School Diploma or GED required Vocational Certificate or associate's degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience: 1 to 3+ years of experience mentoring and leading people and with automated manufacturing equipment Skills: Managerial courage Planning skills and communication of priorities Sound judgement and decision-making skills Problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to motivate others to achieve results Ability to lead with compassion and equity Microsoft Office Suite Use of PPE including, but not limited to clean room gown, mask, bouffant cap, safety glasses, and protective, substantial footwear In some instances, some production areas will be required to wear PPE including a full-face respirator and gloves Ability to walk and stand up, kneel andor bend up to and including the entirety of work shift. Additional Requirements: Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations Ability to work 12-hour shifts and set workday rotations that can result in overtime over a two-week work period Flexibility to work adjusted shifts or additional overtime as necessary L-H Battery will align associates by shift based on seniority by job level. Associates identified for second shift may train on first shift initially and then be placed on second shift based on production ramp up schedule andor business need.
