Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Preferred Time Zone (CST) Overtime-Possible Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for performing a wide variety of research and development laboratory tasks and experiments, focused on electrical testing and prototyping. Will develop and maintain record keeping for experiments performed. Required to make detailed observations of tests, analyze data, and interpret results. Will maintain medical device laboratory equipment and inventory level of laboratory supplies. Will document summaries of testing and may write test protocols and reports. May support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities. May be assigned routine assembly and testing portions of projects (e.g. product performance and software script testing). May support the prototyping and rework of medical devices, including mechanical and electrical activities. Initial project will support a PCB design update and will involve swapping components on a PCB, swapping PCBs, and lots of troubleshooting. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. List knowledge, skills, andor abilities required. Must have good interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), ability to create detailed documentation, and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills such as word processing, data entry, and e-mail. Experience with testing in a laboratory or production environment. A minimum of 1 year of experience is needed. Electrical work in a lab environment. Basically, be hand soldering some electrical components onto boards and trying them out and then doing. Lot more troubleshooting Problem-solving on the electrical. Internships will also involve working with recent graduates Education andor Experience: Include the education and experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily. High School diploma or equivalent, AA degree is strongly preferred. BS or AS is preferred but HS is required 1 years experience in an electro-mechanical laboratory environment. Basic computer skills Preferred: B.S. in electrical engineering or equivalent. Experience with engineering tools and statistical software. Ability to understand technical schematics and statistical tools. Experience soldering. Experience with Oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other electrical laboratory equipment. Top 3-5 Must-Have Non-negotiable Skills Required Hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment working with electrical equipment Ability to convey detailed observations (verbal and written) Problem-solving skills Experience soldering electrical components onto PCBs Soldering skills 1 Year Minimum Electrical testing - 1 Year Minimum PCB 1 Year Minimum Nice to Have Skills Experience with electrical test equipment and measurements (Digital Multimeters, Power Supplies, etc).
